The Omicron variant of the COVID-19 has been identified to have high community transmission. Even though early findings have suggested that there is a reduced risk of hospitalization compared to the Delta variant. The World Health Organization warns that it should not be dismissed and instead, members of the community should continue to take precautions such as keeping social distance, avoiding crowded places, always wearing a mask, washing and sanitizing hands in a bid to keep the spread at bay.
It is also highly encouraged that members of the community get vaccinated.
